Should I buy land and then find a builder, or find a builder and then find land?

We work with buyers who already have land and those looking for a lot!  Either way, we can help you find the perfect lot for your custom build, or help you build the perfect home on your existing lot!  Often, we have lots secured that are ready to be built upon, at your request.  Call us today to see what lots are available!

I already have land.  Will you build on my lot?

After a site evaluation, we can almost always build on your land!  We provide free site evaluations prior to or after a land purchase to ensure your piece of property fits the needs of your dream home!

I have a plan in mind that isn’t in your list of floor plans.  Can you still build it?

Sure!  Our custom design process means we can work with you and an architect to build the home of your dreams!  We build homes of all styles, sizes, and price points, and each home is a custom reflection of the buyer.

I want an energy efficient home.  Can you build to Energy Star standards?

We build every home to above the Energy Star standards.  We are committed to energy efficiency, quality products, and creating savings for our customers.  Check out our website for all that we’re doing to make our builds Energy Star compliant.

Do you build with alternative energy sources like geothermal?

Yes! Many of our home have geothermal energy sources.  We help our buyers decide which energy choice is best for their living conditions and assist in obtaining all available rebates!

Do you have a model home I can view?

Check our current listings section of the website to see which homes are available for walk-throughs!

How long does it take to build a home?

Typically, 90 - 110 days from the first day of digging.  Dig day will usually occur about 45 days from your first design appointment.

How much does it cost to build a custom home?

CCS Homes are value built and custom designed, so each home is tailored to your budget.  We pride ourselves on offering exceptional value and can help you stay within most any budget!  Most of the time, your taste and selections will determine the overall cost of your home.  After the selections meeting, you will know exactly how much your dream home will cost!

What are the steps in building a new custom home?

First, call us today!  Next, we will meet to discuss the custom features, design, and location of your new home.  At our next meeting, we will make adjustments to your plan and begin the selection process.  After final selections are made, we will have a plan and selections review appointment.  Next, we’ll apply for permitting and begin the dig!  From there, the home will take about 90 – 110 days until you’re living in your new home!

How do I pick my finishes?

During our selections appointment, our New Home Consultant will guide you through the selections available.  We utilize Gilcrest Jewett for cabinetry, flooring, hardware, trim, doors, and some custom features.  The remaining selections can be chosen in our office.  We are excited to offer many options that are included in your customary pricing that are sure to meet your specific tastes!

Do I need to visit my home site during construction?

You are welcome to visit your site whenever you would like, though it is not necessary.  We always encourage safety measures during site visits as the home is an active construction site.

What kind of warranty do you offer?

CCS Homes provides a 1-year builder warranty and a 15-year, transferable RWC Warranty.  This warranty will cover structural concerns and can be transferred should you sell the home within the 15-years.

If you’re anything like all of us at CCS Homes, we love our pets!  After a wonderful pair of new clients stopped in with a special request, we knew we had to put together a post just for our special animal family members!  Our new clients provide fostering for AHeinz 57, a great pet rescue based out of De Soto, Iowa.  They wanted to make sure a space was built where they could give their dogs baths without breaking their backs!  We’re still in the process of designing exactly what their home will feature, but we'll definitely be using some of these homes as ideas!

Modern design with all stainless steel features make this one a stunner!

Keeping the weight of your pet in mind as well as their age is important.  The pullout stairs are genius!

A hand held shower wand and flooring that resembles teak take them dog shower up a notch!

Whole rooms just for the pups!

These kitty ideas are adorable!  The kitty litter spot has a cut out that will never let the kitty forget where he supposed to go.

If you’re going to build in your washer and dryer, why not add a spot for the cat to curl up too?

Don’t forget, adding a Central Vacuum system will make pet clean up a breeze!  A kickplate in the kitchen makes easy work of crumbs and pet hair!

Whatever your pet needs may be, we're here to help!  We can't wait to start your custom build today!
